Task #2: The Perfect Murder.

Some days it's way more fun to play with your food than to eat your food....

This past Easter, I was highly entertained by a mass email forward I was sent depicting staged egg murders. (click any of the images for more samples). My first thought was, "wow, there's a lot of sickos out there". My second thought was, "that looks like fun".

So for Week 2 of WMY2 we'd like you to Kill an Egg and then send us a picture!

A Second Generation of Weekminds

As we've recently completed our first year of Weekminds, we are happy to announce there will be another year, and this time you're invited to participate!

How it works:

Every Thursday morning
(STARTING THURSDAY, JULY 15th!), a creative task will be posted by noon EST. Instructions will vary in detail/restrictions. Some will be very abstract and open, others less so.

No commitment or enrollment is required—if you’d like to participate, simply submit your jpg (or jpgs) by 5:00 EST the following Wednesday (or anytime prior). You can participate weekly, or simply when you have time or feel inspired. Entries should be posted by midnight Wednesday (PST).

To submit a jpg:
  • Send you jpg(s) to weekminds@gmail.com
  • Please put “Weekminds” in the subject so we know we are not being spammed.
  • Include in the email a title for your entry, and whether you’d like a credit line (name, username, email, link, etc) posted with your image. If this is not specified, the entry will be marked anonymous. You may also include a short description if you deem necessary.
  • Please read the rules and regulations before submitting
Rules and regulations:
  • All entries must be your own creation.
  • Entries must be submitted by 5:00pm EST to be considered
  • No submitting copyrighted materials, or photos of other peoples work
  • No pornographic images
  • We reserve the right to refuse to post any images we deem inappropriate, any images that appear to be completely off the task guidelines, or any images we believe to be stolen/copyrighted material.
  • By sending your images, you are giving permission for that image to be included on weekminds.blogspot.com.
  • Conversation and comments are encouraged, but please be respectful with all postings. We do not want rude commentary to discourage people from submitting work.
  • Rules can be revised and updated at any time.

The History of WeekMinds:

Weekminds started as a committed, year long-challenge at Reagan Marketing + Design, LLC in Grand Rapids, Michigan. After being inspired by Noah Scalin's skulladay.com, a team of 12 decided to set up their own creative exercise. Each artist chose an item and, for 52 weeks, created an original piece of art representing that idea. In the end, 9 of the 12 made it successfully through the 52 weeks!

Now it's your turn!
